Jensen Beach offered four days of excellent sailing from February 25th to 28th for the Masters Midwinters East regatta. The USSCMC provided an amazing venue for racing. The Masters did stay on the beach for a couple of days, waiting for the wind to fill in with a sea breeze, but Jensen Beach did not disappoint, and the competitors were able to sail 10 races over 4 days. Mike Schmidt won the ILCA 6 class and Ernesto Rodriguez swept Masters week by winning both the Florida Masters and Master Midwinters events. Ernesto Rodriquez won six of the seven races in the Florida Masters and the first six of ten races in the Master Midwinters.

The Gulf Coast Championships were held March 29th and 30th for the first time at the Sarasota Yacht Club. The venue was excellent, with great weather both days. The event attracted 39 ILCA4s, 58 ILCA6s, and 28 ILCA7s with competitors representing the USA, Canada, Germany, Jamaica, and the Bahamas.  The sailing off Clearwater had strong winds, challenging waves, and variable weather. The Sarasota Yacht Club did an excellent job in organizing the regatta and we are sure to be back soon.

Here are the top finishers in each class.
